The largest part of the free 2.0 services that internet offers rely on a simple advertisement model where the incomes are obtained from the ignorance and naiveté of a small part of the internet users. These ignorant users often forget to sign out on the advertisment newletters. They also click on all kinds of banners, text-ads and honestly believe they can win something. Most of the time they do this because they are bored,don't have any knowledge when it comes to the internet medium. They don't see a difference between text ads and a navigation and click wherever they can !
Who are these people who click everything, are ignorant, and think they are winners ?
Well, according to recent research those people are more likely to be women, more likely to be old and more likely to be dumb ! Haha, damn.
I think this research actually may be right! Not entirely off course. But in my environment I see that men have better understanding when it comes to internet stuff. Partly this is also because I live in a tech-savy nerdy agency. ;-)
But hey, those women have other qualities!
